Fuel subsidy vehicles should be serviced only by government tariff.
Bahir Dar, July 13 (WIC) - The Amhara Regional State Trade and Market Development Bureau, the Amhara Regional Transport and Logistics Authority and Ethio Telecom North West Region have issued a joint statement on the ongoing oil subsidy in the country.
Amhara Regional State Trade and Market Development Bureau Deputy Head of the Trade Bureau, Fentaw Fetene, said the main purpose of the fuel subsidy is to solve the problem of oil trade in the country. He said it had started.
He said 213 out of the 225 gas stations operating in the state are registered in the telecom system, although they are not fully operational.
Next, a system has been set up for all outlets to conduct telecom transactions. This, he said, will save time and trade anywhere.
Demelash Sinshaw, Director of the Transport Certification Directorate of the Amhara Regional State Transport and Logistics Authority, on his part said the vehicles are selected for public use.
Accordingly, public transport and urban transport will be identified separately, he said. The vehicles not covered by the subsidy are government vehicles, private cars, contracted public and urban transport, freight transport and airport taxis.
Demelash on his part said 41,279 urban transport and 8,813 public transport vehicles have been registered in the state and handed over to the Federal Transport and Logistics Authority.
One month ago, Ethio Telecom started registering the owner of the vehicle, the license plate number, the driver's name and phone number, as well as the fuel agents.
According to Abebe Tiruneh, Director of Ethio Telecom North West Region's Operations, there are problems with the use of drivers, forgetting passwords and PIN numbers.
Victory for July 5, 2008
Six years ago, on July 5, 2008, there were long-running protests in the Oromo Protest, mainly in the Oromo region of West Shoa, the Welega Four Zones, West Arsi, Bale and Hararge. The protest began with a scorpion. The main center was Ambo. Many Oromo youths, Qeros, were killed by TPLF militants. It is enough to remember Bischoff's massacre at Erecha.
However, nothing has changed at the federal level. The Oromo Protestant alone was not sufficient, as the Oromo region could not move large cities, and other communities outside the Oromo region did not join the protests.
On July 15, 2008, Colonel Demeke Zewdu launched a campaign called Amhara Struggle in the Amhara Region. Primarily on the Wolkait issue. Earthquake protests erupted in the major towns of Amhara, Gondar, Bahir Dar, and Debre Markos. After that, the TPLF could not. The federal government lost its power. In the process, like many Oromo youths, many Amhara youth have been killed. More than 48 youths have been killed by snipers in Bahir Dar, Amba Giorgis and Woldiya.
With all this sacrifice, a very bad time has come for the TPLF to think it would be better if it continued. The era of the OPCW and the OLF. A time when citizens are being massacred. A time when millions were displaced. A time when people are in a state of fear and dread. A time of darkness.
One of the reasons for the July 5, 2008 incident was the Wolkait case. Wolkait is now free from the TPLF. Wolkait remained under the TPLF, not because the TPLF accidentally waged war. Even so, Wolkaite is in the dark, with the electricity network cut off and the electricity network cut off. She has not yet made a political decision. The status of the TPLF has not changed. The federal government still considers Wolkait part of Tigray. Therefore, Wolkait is not outside the Tigray region.
The uprising on July 5, 2088, was aimed at opposing and changing the constitution and structure of the Amhara community, which has been considered an enemy of the Amhara community for more than 27 years. However, Dr. Abiy Ahmed, who claims to be a force for change, has continued the TPLF's racial politics for the past four years. In fact, racism has increased from the TPLF regime.
What we can learn and learn from this is that the result of July 5 has been achieved, that the change that has taken place on July 5 has been hijacked from the beginning, or has completely failed.
For real change, another July 5 is needed. The community united in the fight against the TPLF must stand together in the fight against the OPCW and the OLF.
